On the auspicious occasion of World Tourism Day 2020, an International conference on Sustainable Sports and Tourism for Prosperous Nepal was conducted via Zoom. The virtual conference was organized in coordination with Mountain Sports Federation Nepal (MSF Nepal) which is continuously lobbying for sustainable tourism through Nature, Adventure and Culture.Program that started with a Welcome Speech from MSF Nepal chairperson Mr. Govinda Bhattarai and was addressed by Hon. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr.Yogesh Bhattarai.

Similarly, the program had a number of guest speakers presence including Sustainable Tourism Expert Ms. Lisa Choegyal (New Zealand), Director of CIFFT Mr. Alexander V. Kammel (Austria), Dr. Alexey Kylasov from World Ethnosport Society (Latvia), International Cathchball Federation CEO Ms. Hilla Davidov, Tourism Expert Mr. Raj Gyawali, General Secretary of Nepal Olympic Committee Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha and Tourism Academician Mr. Vinaya Shakya making their remarkable presentation and sharing opinions.

Altogether there were more than 60 participants in the virtual program where agendas like During and Post COVID-19 tourism, adventure sports and tourism, new products for tourism and Sustainable Tourism for prosperous Nepal.

Former CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi moderated the whole program whereas MSF-Nepal General Secretary Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Pandey made the closing remarks.

Nepal, which is world famous for its nature, adventure and culture, has not been able to take advantage of it and sports tourism is expected to help Nepal’s tourism industry in the wake of the Covid-19 attack.
